variations for solo violin
(2017) solo violin
This piece is very much about process, distortion and irony. A set of variations was a common compositional form found during the baroque and classical eras, and was meant to be improvisatory by nature. Four different baroque dances are used as a point of reference with the past, but also serve to create satire in a modern context.
